Riders leave Blue Earth Plaza, and head east to some of our favorite destinations. The route take riders to  Pillsbury Crossing (The Kandango River) and on to the first sag at Shamrock Corner (the summit of Mount Kandango).

Next stop is Grandma Hoerners for tasty treats, and on to Alma for lunch. Riders head west, after leaving Alma, for some very pretty country en route to St. Joseph's to join the roadies and the party.

This ride is so great that it makes the choice between road and gravel on Friday very difficult. Either way, you win.

Pillsbury Crossing - 9.4 miles

Riders get there feet (or tires) wet crossing the Kandango River (Pillsbury Crossing). This watering hole is a favorite gathering place for the locals.

Shamrock Corner (Mount Kandango) - 1.8 miles

Just a hop, skip and a jump from Pillsbury Crossing, Mount Kandango offers a beautiful vista of the Flint Hills to the north and east.

Grandma Hoerner's - 7.8 miles

Stop in Grandma Hoerner's Foods for water and snacks. Cool business. Read their history for more.

Alma - 6.9 miles

Food, treats, and entertainment. Alma is a great place to visit. Stay tuned for places and venues.

Cyclone Road - 11 miles

Just a coincidence - Iowa folks. This is halfway between Alma and St. Joe's and in the heart of Flint Hill Country - a perfect place for a sag.

St. Joseph's Historic Church - 10.5 miles

The last leg of the ride continues through the hilly and scenic back country and ends at the church and the party.

Roadies and gravel grinders unite!

SAG to Manhattan

The gravel ride ends at the church. Riders and bikes will be transported to Manhattan on buses leaving every half hour between 2 PM and 7 PM
